Franklin

The simplest yet most classic model from Church Pews of Quality, Franklin is the most popular model for all churches around the world. It can be fixed on the floor or act as movable furniture for future seating arrangements. Options are available for bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature. Again, rosewood is chosen to be the 100% main material for church pews to ensure their quality and durability.

Eumeralla

Our acclaimed antique church pew is a reproduction of early church pews and made with rosewood and tree-sap colouring to maintain its classic look and touch. All of the church pews from Church Pews of Quality are made by a world-famous manufacturer of rosewood furniture in Thailand as featured in “How it’s made” on the Discovery Channel and broadcast around the world in 36 languages. Options for your church pews include bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature.

Nullagine

This model of church pew is designed for a classic look with classic carving on the backrest to ensure its timeless beauty. Options are available for bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature. Again, rosewood is chosen to be the main material for church pews to ensure its quality and durability. Tree sap colouring is an ancient technique and recognised as the first plastic of humankind. Colouring with tree sap makes the feel of wood natural and soft. It is also heat tolerant up to 70 Celsius.

Murrumbidgee

This model of church pew retains its traditional and classic look enhanced by 100% handcraft on solid rosewood materials. Like other 14th and 15th century pews, they are generally made of wood; therefore they are made to last with joints and hinges rather than nails or screws. The KONGKA model can come with some other options such bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests, cushions; and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature. In many churches pews are permanently attached to the floor or to a wooden platform. This can be arranged with Church Pews of Quality.

Diamantina

The Diamantina is a modern-looking church pew designed ergonomically. Once again, this model requires no nails but only joints and hinges to connect all rosewood pieces together for its durability. Colours can be chosen to match your existing church interior or fixtures. Church pews have evolved culturally since the 13th century. The first style was made by rocks, then in the two centuries that followed, wooden pews became more common. Wooden pews have since endured with some changes in design to match the then-current era. Church Pews of Quality is honoured to be part of the history.

Onkaparinga

With its classic and gothic look, this model of church pew is dedicated to all timeless art lovers. With 100% hand-crafted carving and woodworking, this timeless piece will enhance a classical feeling in any church of that style. Rosewood is chosen to serve the art and craft of woodworking because of its flexibility, appearance, strength and durability. In all models, long pieces of rosewood are used with no joints in the length of the seating in order to ensure its exquisite touch and smoothness.

 Bungala

The Bungala pew reflects the concept of freedom and flexibility. It can be easily disassembled like a jigsaw providing a variety of functions.  The backrest can be removed, turning each pew into a casual bench.  With its flexibility, it can also be used as family seat in your home for summer or a unique yet functional item in a corner of your best room.  The joints of the Bungala are expressed to the eye yet smooth to the feel.  The Bungala may be enhanced with bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature.

 Araluen

The Araluen is an original design inspired by our Church Furniture Designer who has travelled the world and seen many cultures and religions.  The Araluen is a combination of traditional rosewood church pews and inlayed mother of pearl from an oriental imperial palace.  It also has expressed rosewood trims to complement its elegant presentation.  It is our most bespoke and ornate design and can also be displayed as a collectible piece in a foyer area.  Options for the Araluen church pew includes bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature.

Coomera

The Coomera design presents as a robust pew with its solid vertical elements and bases that join each leg. It also exhibits the beautiful skills of the handcraft carvers employed in the factory, that is synonymous with Thai craftmanship. The backrest carving is 100% hand-carved by craftsmen and women with decades of experience. The carved lotus reflects peace and simpleness in life. Rosewood as a canvas brings out the art of hand carving which will be rare in the not-to-distant future. This elegantly decorated pew can also be displayed as a collectible item in your home. As with our other pews, the Coomera may be enhanced with bench-like cushioned seating, hassocks, footrests, and slots behind each pew to hold bibles, prayer books, hymnals or other church literature.

Raw Materials

Each piece of furniture is auspiciously designed and produced using the highest quality materials and techniques to produce a final product that is not only a prized possession, but an investment.

Rosewood

The density of rosewood is perfectly suited to craftworks and mother of pearl inlay. The value of rosewood increases over time and can be passed on from generation to generation.

Mother of Pearl

The Grade “A” mother of pearl, sourced from Australia, is used to decorate many pieces of furniture. It is strong, durable, long-lasting, resilient and iridescent, as well as retaining its beauty over a very long time. As mother of pearl is a natural organic-inorganic material, every piece of furniture will be unique in its inlays.

Chinese lacquer

The lacquer contains the sap of the Rhus Vernicifiera (Chinese Lacquer Tree) and brings out the rich, natural colours of rosewood. It does no harm to the wood or mother of pearl inlay.

Leather

The leather’s quality is guaranteed by a Certificate of Origin from Italy, one of the highest regarded upholstery suppliers.

KONGKA Furniture employs a team of over 300 highly-skilled artisans and designers. KONGKA manufactures furniture in an artistic yet functional form rather than mass production.
